Who stays here and why

West Drayton exists on this list almost entirely because of the airport. If a stay is built around Heathrow — crew, contractors on airport-adjacent projects, early departures — this is the area, not Ealing or Uxbridge. Park West and Waterside Park, the two apartment groups here, are both larger developments with a mix of one- and two-bedroom units, priced lower than the more central areas on this corridor precisely because the draw is proximity rather than a high street or a park.

Park West is the bigger of the two, spread across several linked houses, which gives it the widest day-to-day availability of any single group on the corridor. Waterside Park sits nearby on its own site and tends to be quieter, with a similar mix of unit sizes at a comparable rate.

Transport and getting around

West Drayton station runs the Elizabeth line direct to Heathrow Terminals 2 and 3 in a few minutes, and on to Paddington in around 26 minutes. By road, all Heathrow terminals are within ten to fifteen minutes, which is as close as any area on this corridor gets.

The area itself is quieter and more residential than its airport-adjacent reputation suggests, with the Grand Union Canal and some green space along it. There's a smaller everyday shopping offer than Ealing or Uxbridge, so it suits a stay focused on the airport more than one built around exploring the local area.

Nearby areas

Uxbridge is the option if Stockley Park matters more than the terminals themselves — the two are close on a map but distinct destinations, and the journey to Stockley Park is meaningfully shorter from Uxbridge.

Ealing and Greenford are both further from the airport but offer more in the way of a high street and a residential feel for a stay that isn't purely about a flight — worth the extra 15–20 minutes if that matters more than shaving time off the airport run.
